Summer is officially here! My kids have finished school, weather is hot and we are ready for pool days!
This year we bought an above ground pool for our backyard. It was a must have since our summer plans have changed a bit. This keeps my kids at home and play dates outside!
I wanted to share with y’all our pool day must have’s for kids, teens and adults for summer fun.
Pool day must have’s: toys, floats, towels and more
Pool toys and floats are a must have in our house. All of us love to lounge around, soaking up the sun. But to keep those kids entertained when their friends come over, pool games are a must. Got boys? This is great game for a great price. It’s two games in one, lots of pieces and room for imagination.
My son likes to play by himself in the pool and these keep him super busy. Lots of diving sticks and items for him to play with. When his friends are over, there’s plenty to share and even make a game out of. But our most favorite items are the reusable water balloons. We’ve used these for the past few summers and they are always a hit with guests.
The girls and I love to layout in the pool. We love floats that keep us out of the water on cooler days, but also keep us in the water on hot days (I know so picky!). I love these floats and how adjustable they are and this one great as an option to stay more above the water.
And let’s not forget the fun floats when all our friends are over. You can get any now from a taco, pizza or avocado to a unicorn, flamingo or my favorite a llama!
Let’s not forget towels! We love the large cabana style towels because they are big enough to lay out on and snuggle up in. These towels come in a four pack so you have plenty for guests when they come over. And the best part, so many different colors so no one losing their towel!
These towels have become my favorite! I love how soft they are and how quickly they dry, which is always a place when you’re spending the day around the pool.
I know everyone loves their Stanley’s but my kids gave me a Simple Modern for Mother’s Day and it has become my new favorite, especially poolside! And they have adorable kids tumblers and water bottles! But I think the Disney ones are my favorite (might have to grab myself one!)
For everyone who loves to read as much as I do, I can’t spend a day by/in the pool without my kindle! This one is great because it’s waterproof, perfect for all those moms who tend to get splashed. And don’t forget a cute case to keep it safe. And grab yourself a Kindle Unlimited subscription, I promise you it’s so worth it!
Pool day must have’s: Beauty Products
I know what you are thinking, pool beauty products? But really what else would you call them all but taking care of yourself and your skin in the sun.
I make my kids lotion up all day! It’s a must. They keep it by the pool and reapply throughout the day. I have two kids who tan easily and one who burns. So I have an array of sunscreen available for everyone who comes to our house.
Everyone looks for different things in their sunscreen. I look for simple ingredients, products that work, items I can order online and shipped to my house and won’t break the bank. Sun Bum checks all those boxes! From lotion to face stick to lip balm, to a tanning oil, they have it all.
Y’all know I LOVE essential oils and doTERRA is my favorite! And they have come out with the most amazing sunscreen. We used it all last summer and have stocked up for this summer. Their mineral sunscreen comes in spray, lotion, and stick. And for all those who tend to get a bit red in the sun, they have an amazing after-sun spray.
Pool day must have’s: ambiance
We love listening to music while we are outside all day! Our blue tooth speaker stays on the deck away from the pool and works great. We take it in the yard while playing lawn games or around the fire pit in the evening. The charge stays for hours and the sound is amazing. It’s the same one we take to our tailgates in the fall! It’s a must have for sure!
But when we are in the water all day, and want something closer to the pool, we have found this one is great! And suitable to use in, out or around the water.
Do you like to night swim? I mean how fun is that with friends over, to grill out and then jump in the pool afterwards. Pool lights are a must have for summer night swim!
