We have been safe at home for weeks now. Kids have been cyber schooling at home, parents have been working from home, we’ve all been trying to keep ourselves sane and entertained. I thought I would share with you some of the things that I find stay at home essentials during this time.

Staying Organized

These are things that have helped me stay sane during this time. Our schedule may be a little less busy but we still have zoom meetings and lots of assignments the kids have to complete. To keep us organized using both a paper planner as well as some white boards in my kids rooms. I keep zoom meetings and assignments in mine and then add them to their white boards so they know what needs to be done.

The white boards stay in my kids rooms all the time, they use them through the school year to keep their weekly schedules and assignments on. It teaches them to be organized; something they need to know in life.

During this time I am still working not just on the blog but I still work at the church. We have our own meetings, I am still doing lessons on Sundays with my kids via Zoom. I have to make sure I keep all my stuff organized and having a paper planner just works so much better for me. This is one of my favorites and I use it all the time! And I use these pens (each person is color coded in my planner along with my jobs).

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Now that we are all on our electronic devices more than ever before, it’s important to keep your eyes healthy. I have been using blue light blocking glasses for over a year now and they are great. I have a lot less headaches daily when working on the computer all day.

I purchased all my kids new glasses now that they are online with their schoolwork. There’s even kid’s sizes for our little ones!

Lots Caffeine and relaxation

I can’t get through the day without my afternoon caffeine break. I drink black coffee in the morning, but in the afternoon I like something different. I love TAZO teas and lattes. I make sure I have one every afternoon to help me get through the evening.

Essential Oils are my go to for relaxation and to control moods during this time. I use lavender daily in our diffuser for relaxation as well as some citrus bliss to keep moods elevated and happy. Serenity is great for evenings and a good nights rest. I love essential oils and this is a great time to start using them in your house.

Entertainment

I’m sure everyone is loving this extra time with their family and kids. During this time we have watched a ton of movies on Disney+ as well as re-watching The Office on Netflix. But sitting in front of the tv isn’t always something we like to do.

Family game nights are great times to spend together as well. We’ve gotten some new games, and always love the oldies. Monopoly Deal is a ton of fun as well as Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. A few other popular ones we like in our house are Rummy, Rack-O, Beat the Parents, and Scattergories.

Keeping a family journal

These are just a few of the things that keep us sane during our time home. Each family is different and I am sure you have some of your own must have’s to get you through your time home.

Remember to have fun and make memories and time is forgiving! I really like the idea of keeping a family journal during this time. Everyone can write daily of their time staying healthy at home. It gives us something to hold on to and read years down the road.

Let me know some of you must have items for staying home, keeping sane, and making it through each day.
