I’ve been a sports mom for way too many years to admit. I’ve gone from the soccer sidelines to now the baseball field. I’ve spent more of my life cheering on my kids then traveling (well actually I’ve traveled more for sports than pleasure!). But here’s the thing, I wouldn’t change it – EVER! In fact, I know it’s going to be over all too soon and that makes me sad!

My years at the fields have given me an insight to all the things needed. Baseball games/tournaments tend to be longer than the years on the soccer field. But all the experience has given me an insight, and today I want to share them with y’all.

So let me share some of my favorite items and of cause game day essentials.

  • Cooler Backpack This has become my favorite field item! I keep all our drinks in the bottom compartment with an ice pack. I can keep almost 10 different drinks in the there! The top is where I keep the Bento Boxes (see below) with snacks. It’s insulated and keeps everything cool. The backpack itself comes with cooler pouches too! There’s plenty of compartments for sunscreen, bug spray, ChapStick, keys, wet wipes and so much more! This is the way to go, all in one so I don’t have to carry multiple bags/coolers. Comes in so many color options (of course I have pink) and the fabric makes it easy to wipe down and keep clean.
  • Bento Boxes These come in a pack of 4 and while I know the popular snack boxes right now are these, I prefer these pack of 4 Bento boxes because I can pack each one for a different family member and they fit in the top of my cooler backpack!
  • Stanley 2 Gallon Jug This one is pricey but you will get your money out of it! For all those tournament days where we spend so much time at the field this is a must! I fill this up in the morning with ice and water (either at home or in the hotel) and keep this in the back of our car. We use reusable water bottles as much as we can (if you’ve read my blog you know I love the environment) and so this Jug allows us to refill as much as we can, especially by ball player. We don’t take it out of the car to the field, we just leave it in there and it stays cold and works great!
  • Collapsible water Jug If you prefer a more compact, easy to travel with this is another option. It’s a collapsible one and if you need a stand you can purchase. Great to always keep in the trunk for those long game days!
  • Baseball/Softball Tumbler I love my tumbler and bring it to all the games. Holds so much water, stays cold all day and super easy to carry with the handle.
  • Rocking Chair Some of those games are so long! But that’s okay with this super comfy rocking chair. Folds up easy, has a carrying handle and isn’t overly heavy. I don’t use a wagon to carry my gear so this makes it easy.
  • Fan and Charger I like the fan because I can charge it in my car and leave it in there. You can also charge your phone from it while at the field for all of us Gamechanger folks! This fan is great for multiple people or super hot days where you need more. If you’re at a field that allows you to hang items from the fence, this one comes with a hook to hang your fan. I’ve also hung it from the canopy tent and it gave a great breeze to everyone sitting under it.
  • Personal Rechargeable Fan This is a super great one that is so compact and great for a personal fan. Fits even in a purse so you can use it anytime and not just on the field. Grab it now while it’s on a super discount!
  • Rechargeable Handwarmers I’m sure you have some games where you are freezing like we are. Winter likes to stick around sometimes during spring games. These are amazing. I charge them in my car on the way to the game and then throw them in my bag. They are so warm and great to have for those cold games.
  • Windproof Waterproof Sherpa Blanket I know we all have our favorite blankets for the field. This one has become my favorite. I can roll it up and throw it in the car, its super warm and when it begins to rain, no worries!
  • Heated vest with battery pack This one is pricey so make sure you save this post and come back to it when someone asks you what you want as a gift! But aside from the price this is a great one to have for all of us who spend time on the field in colder months. Once the sun goes down and we are out there cheering on our players, we need to be comfortable and warm. So, grab yourself a heated vest!

I hope these items help you out. I will continue to update the list as I find new items I love. Comment and share some of your favorite sports mom items! Enjoy!
